Strathclyde University FC is one of the largest and most successful university football clubs in Scotland. The club runs a total of six teams altogether, three teams that play in the Scottish conferences of the BUCS championships (formerly BUSA) and three teams that compete in local Saturday amateur football leagues. The BUCS championship teams get to travel all over Scotland to play against other university teams. These games take place on Wednesday afternoons annd are usually a good excuse for the boys to get together for one or two social drinks afterwards in one of Glasgow's many nightclubs. The three teams that play in local leagues all play to a reasonable standard.   The first team who play in the Caledonian AFL Premier Division are considered among the top Scottish amateur sides by many.   The second team play in the Greater Glasgow Premier League Division 1 and the third team play in the Glasgow District Saturday Morning League. Players who show the correct attitude and ability have a great chance of getting into one of the three teams.
The Club is run by a committee elected at each seasons AGM. This year Stevie Beggs has been elected Wednesday Captain and David Paterson Saturday Captain. They are supported by the club committee who meet regularly to discuss important matters surrounding the club such as training, sponsorship and fund raising. Club coaches for the upcoming season are Will Watson Snr, Robert Johnston and Kenny Harrow who will oversee training and games of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams respectively.
The club boasts fine training and playing facilities with 5 very well maintained grass pitches at Stepps playing fields which are restricted mainly to use by the University and Cambria, their graduates' team.  Professional teams sometimes make use of the fine facilities noteably Rangers and Celtic FC during their development of their own training grounds.   An all weather pitch on site hosts the Monday night weekly training sessions with the other session being carried out at Stepford in Easterhouse.

The club thrives on being succesful and recent honours include:
2009/2010 Caledonian AFL Premier Division Champions, The William Turner Challenge Cup Winners and the Glasgow District Saturday Morning League Division B Champions.
2008/2009 and 2007/2008 GDSML Referees Shield Winners (GDSML's equivalent to the community shield)
2007/2008 Caledonian AFL 1st Division Champions
2005/2006 Caledonian AFL Queens Park Challenge Cup Winners
2004/2005 GGPL League Cup winners
2004/2005 BUSA Vase winners
This success comes from the hard work, will and determination from everyone involved at the club from the coaches who give up hours of their free time to make sure that the squads are prepared to play and the players who compete for every position available. However, SUFC is not all work and no play. The club enjoys a great atmosphere where boys will tend to socialise together, whether this being a Wednesday night where a long bus trip home from Aberdeen ends up as an even longer night in the Arches or Karbon or Bamboo.... or attending one of the clubs many fundraising and social events during the year such as poker or race nights, Christmas or end of season dinner.

This year the club is sponsored by Frankensteins meaning that Wednesday and Saturday squads will get free buffets after games. But in addition to this, club members will receive 20% off all drinks (40% on Mondays), 2-4-1 food from the student menu (free food on Tuesdays). Club members will receive a card that they can use everytime they are in the pub and as an added bonus, the more money we spend in there, the more money the club receives back in sponsorship which means better equipment, facilities and generally cheaper running of the club so let get as many boys in there as often as possible. It is compulsory to attend if you are involved in Wednesday or Saturday squads.
